House Nordic is a wholesaler that also owns a brand of the same name , explains CEO Henrik Jørgensen during NU ’ s visit in the village of Søndersø just outside Odense in Denmark . Approximately 32 fulltime employees and 25 hourly employees , primarily students assist the company . Henrik Jørgensen ’ s sister and two sons are also both part of the team , and the Danish family business has grown during Covid . - As in many other interior businesses we ’ ve grown because consumers have been at home more and they haven ’ t spent money on travelling , so many have made home improvements . That benefits the interior and furniture business , and for House Nordic it has resulted in significant sales growth both in our home market and in export markets . Today , more than half of our revenue comes from export , says Henrik
Jørgensen , who founded the business as an entrepreneur with help from his retired father and two of his retired friends . The three older gentlemen were responsible for the warehouse , unpacking products that arrived from Asia , and readying orders for shipment to customers . At the same time , Henrik Jørgensen spent his time on the road doing direct sales . Evenings were spent on paperwork and setting things up for the pensioner team so they could get to work again the next day . The business grew quickly and after seven months hired its first full-time employee for customer service , order fulfilment , and so on . And from there , things really picked up . Today , House Nordic has suppliers in both Asia and Europe . Current trend items are often sourced from inside the EU to enable quick delivery .
