Flying into
As the fourth-busiest airport in the world, and the size of the
island of Manhattan, DFW International Airport has often flown
lead ship, serving as a trendsetter in an industry that defines
how the world moves. The airport’s customer experience and
multi-billion dollar terminal renewal program again put North
Texas squarely in the flight path of innovation and discovery.
F
or the past seven consecutive years, DFW
Airport has ranked among the top 10 large
airports for customer service worldwide by
Airports Council International and today is redefining the human experience in this global gateway.
DFW Airport has embarked upon a $2.3 billion Terminal Renewal and Improvement Program
(TRIP) to improve terminals A, B, C and E. But
rather than refresh just the space, the project aims
to renew the entire airport experience for the 60
million passengers a year that make DFW Airport
a part of their journey. From parking technology
to dining options to energy efficiency and environmental improvement – even a new way for passengers to connect before they ever step foot on airport grounds – TRIP is rethinking the way airports
support travelers in the new century.
“We are renovating DFW Airport’s four original
terminals from floor to ceiling in order to redefine
and elevate the traveler experience at DFW,” said
Sean Donohue, CEO of DFW Airport. “Our goal is
to give DFW customers an outstanding experience
while they’re here, and the terminal spaces we’ve
renewed so far have been a big hit.”
The seven-year terminal renewal and improvement initiative began in 2010 and is focused on
replacing and innovating infrastructure, making
it more efficient to access the airport, park, check
through security and more.
The plan incorporates many self-service technologies, offers sophisticated and diverse options
for dining and spending time in the terminal, and,
overall, makes DFW Airport a more modern, efficient and exciting way to travel. Cl
