Spotlight on North Texas Water-Wise Gardens at upper trinity regional water district
Maintaining Beautiful Landscape all Year ... Even During a Drought
The Water-Wise Garden of Upper Trinity Regional Water District in Lewisville demonstrates
the beauty and practicality of water-conserving landscape, using organic techniques. The
demo garden showcases more than 100 varieties of plants, either native to Texas – or well
adapted. The native and adapted plants tolerate drought conditions and attract birds,
butterflies and other wildlife. And, by avoiding harmful chemicals, the garden is safe for
kids and pets, and protects water quality. The Water-Wise Garden was a key element in
recent state and national awards earned by Upper Trinity Regional Water District for its
commitment to protecting local watersheds and promoting conservation.
