Is Triple - Negative Breast Carcinoma a Distinct and Separate Entity?
Abstract
Triple Negative Breast Carcinoma (TNBC) subtype is defined as tumours that lack expression of
specific hormonal receptors; oestrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR) and an absence or
overexpression of Human Epidermal Growth Factor receptor 2, (HER2). Approximately 10-15% of
breast carcinomas are known to be of TNBC subtype which accounts for approximately 80% of basallike cancers and suggests they both share synonymous phenotypes. This unfortunate connection
between the two cancers, therefore, still cannot confirm an internatio
