Thomasian Run:

To serve and help

Just like how it has been, a usual NSTP CWTS course is mainly composed of modules, projects, seminars and fieldworks. To cap off a year of service training, a culminating activity is held for CWTS and LTS students which is similar to a graduation ceremony to acknowledge the students' completion of the training course. However, there has been a tad bit of changes for University of Santo Tomas NSTP CWTS and LTS students A.Y. 2013-2014 — a fun run was held.

The UST NSTP held a charity fun run which aimed to benefit the University's identified communities which were affected by the most excruciating and violent natural calamity that struck the country, caused a large number of death, left a lot of people homeless and destroyed a lot of properties and structures. The event entitled THE UNENDINGRACE: SERVICE BEYOND THE FINISH LINE 2013-2014 TULONG TOMASINO TAKBO PARA SA VISAYAS aimed to once again help a community. It was held on the 26th of January 2014 at the UST Grandstand. The fun run which was participated also by other members of Thomasian community such as priests, administrators, University organizations and even outsiders, started at the UST Lovers' Lane.

Aside from the race, a Zumba session which is a fun dance-aerobic workout was also held. Present on the venue as well were hydration stations, first aid stations, photo wall and sponsors' booths. In exchange for the NSTP students' attendance, whistles were distributed by the end of the event which served as a remembrance and token for taking part in the event.

The participants were able to enjoy the activities of the event and at the same time were able to contribute to the University's efforts to help the needy. The event organizers emphasized the purpose and goal of the event which is lend a helping hand and give hope to the devastated and hopeless and that it was not a competition.

The event showed the Thomasians' readiness and willingness to help especially in times of struggles in whatever way possible. The Thomasian community's attempt to help was again turned into reality after having executed the event properly and successfully.
