Telling NTFB’s Story Communications at NTFB Events & Campaigns Throughout FY 2015, our local media partners and friends helped us tell the stories of our mission, programs, clients and volunteers. Thanks to the Dallas Morning News, the Dallas Business Journal, WFAA 8, Fox 4, NBC 5, CBS 11, KERA FM, KRLD FM Telemundo, Univision and others for their continued support in raising awareness about our mission in North Texas. In addition, more than 32,000 social media followers across Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google+ and Pinterest engaged with our our updates, requests for donations and volunteers, and other news via our social platforms. Their social media support played a critical role in spreading awareness about hunger in our community. In FY 2015, we launched HARVEST, our newest signature event, at The Shed at the Dallas Farmers Market. Guests enjoyed dishes from Dallas’ top chefs and live entertainment that raised funds for our child and senior programs. Last year, we also celebrated the 16th year of Empty Bowls sponsored by Kroger at the Meyerson Symphony Center. Attendees enjoyed culinary tastings and took home hand-crafted artisan bowls. In addition, we moved our annual Taste of the NFL event to AT&T Stadium, where local celebrities, including Troy Aikman, Chad Hennings, Preston Pearson and Kent Rathbun, and more than 900 guests raised record-breaking funds for our child programs. In all, these three signature events provided access to more than 1.6 million meals. Hundreds of community events and fundraising campaigns also raised critical food and funds to help fight hunger including The Dallas Theater Center’s production of A Christmas Carol, Run Project’s Dash Down Greenville, The Plaza at Preston Center’s Santa Days, DFW Restaurant Week, Canstruction Dallas, Kissandtella, Big Texas Beer Fest, and many more.
