Our Community Pantry
With the support of many Food Bank friends, including the Clements Foundation, NTFB unveiled Our
Community Pantry — a new client-choice food pantry in the Fair Park community of South Dallas. The
pantry, which sits adjacent to St. Philip’s School & Community Center, serves as a test lab to observe
best practices that inform our own programs and serve as a model for other pantries and NTFB Partner
Agencies.
Our Community Pantry serves residents who live in the 75203, 75210, and 75215 zip codes of Dallas.
The neighborhood has been identified as a food desert, and many residents are seniors with limited
transportation. Clients tell NTFB staff that having the pantry within a few blocks of their home makes
accessing food assistance and social services easier.
In its first year, Our Community Pantry served 846 households, which included 1,634 individuals, and
distributed 347,389 pounds of food.
