BUS-ALT SHIELD-E GATOR SOFTBALL

Join the Gators this spring for another favorite team sport ! During the program ' s first week , new athletes will go through a Skills Assessment Test to determine participation in the program for the remainder of the season and gain eligibility for Special Olympics Illinois competitions . Following the first week , Gator Softball athletes will learn softball rules , develop skills , practice , and play weekly games against local teams . Game locations and transportation times will vary each week . NSSRA will distribute a schedule and tournament information at the beginning of the season .

Save the Date ! The TR Section Softball Tournament will take place on July 16 and the location is TBD . Special Olympics District Softball Tournament will take place on July 30 at Elgin Sports Complex in Elgin , IL .
For those that qualify , the Special Olympics State Outdoor Sports Festival will take place September 9 - 10 at Land of Lincoln Sports Complex in Springfield , IL ! State practices will be offered to athletes who qualify for state and will take place on August 29 and September 5 .
SHIELD-E GATOR GOLF
Age : 12 and Up Min / Max : 6 / 10 Location : Wilmette Golf Club
Gator Golf is designed for athletes who are interested in developing skills to compete in a 3 , 6 , or 9-hole golf tournament . During the first week of the program , new athletes will go through a Skills Assessment Test to determine participation in the program for the remainder of the season and gain eligibility for Special Olympics Illinois competitions . Athletes will either work on skill development or practice preparing for future Special Olympics competitions each week . Please note that on select nights , athletes eligible to compete in Special Olympics Illinois competitions will be given tee times to complete scorecards for the competition . Those athletes can expect to finish by 8:00 pm .
