BUS-ALT SHIELD-E TRUENORTH / NSSRA SUMMER PROGRAM
Age : 3 - 21
This camp is offered to students who qualify for extended school year as identified in their IEP through TrueNorth . If qualified , registration materials can be obtained from TrueNorth and / or your child ’ s teacher . This 5 - 6 week summer program includes education in the morning and an afternoon recreation option . Afternoon activities include sensory activities , fine and gross motor skill development , crafts , cooking , sports , indoor and outdoor games , field trips , socialization among peers and swimming ! TrueNorth and NSSRA will place students at camp sites based on appropriate educational groupings and facility availability .
Staff includes NSSRA Recreation Directors , TrueNorth Education Directors , Special Education Teachers , Site Coordinators , Speech and Language Therapists , Teacher Assistants , Program Assistants and Volunteers . Nursing services are provided . The staff to student ratio is 1:5 unless indicated as a 1:1 in his or her IEP . Recreation staffing is based on camper needs and activities .

Parents will be responsible for picking campers up at the end of the program , unless otherwise stated . Transportation for outings will be provided by NSSRA .
