Bowling Bunch (New!) Let’s get rolling! Meet us at Wilmette Bowl for some bowling shenanigans. If you love bowling, this program is right up your alley! You will learn basic bowling techniques, rules and sportsmanship. Fee includes bowling, shoe rental and a snack. This program will end three weeks early on July 15. Goals: Increase socialization and gross motor coordination. Demonstrate proper grip, approach and follow through. Improve ability to stay on task. Develop an understanding of bowling techniques. Promote willingness to share and take turns. Gator Bocce is for athletes of all skill and experience levels. Gator athletes will learn the rules of bocce as well as different strategies that can be applied during competition. Note: During the first week, athletes will take a Skills Assessment Test to gain eligibility for Special Olympics Illinois competitions. All Gator athletes must have a current Special Olympics Medical Application for Participation on file to compete in bocce. No program August 19 and September 2. Save the dates! The Special Olympics district bocce competition is Sunday, October 6, and for those who qualify, the Special Olympics Illinois State Summer Games will be in June 2020. Goals: Enhance upper extremity gross motor skills and hand-eye coordination through throwing the ball. Enhance attention and concentration by targeting a point. Learn bocce rules and skills. Improve problem solving and decision making skills through competitions.
