Join NSSRA for a summer of fun with your friends! The Lake Forest Rec Program offers camp activities for students who attend Lake Forest High School’s
summer school session. Activities will include sports, games, swimming, arts, crafts, outdoor activities and more! This program meets Monday - Thursday and

Afternoon Escapades
Registration Deadline: Friday, April 28
Join NSSRA for a summer of fun! Afternoon Escapades offers children camp opportunities with friends in a community setting. Activities will include sports,
games, swimming, arts, crafts, outdoor activities and more! This location provides an option close to home! Information regarding the open house will
be communicated to campers and parents. No program July 4.
NSSRA will provide registered participants with a t-shirt. Participants are required to bring a lunch and drink each day. A detailed schedule
will be mailed home.

Transportation
Parents will be responsible for transportation to and from camp. Transportation will be provided for swimming and field trips by NSSRA.

NSSED/NSSRA Summer Program
Registration Deadline: Friday, April 14
This camp is offered to students who qualify for extended school year as
identified in their IEP through NSSED. If qualified, registration materials can
be obtained from NSSED and/or your child’s school. This five week summer
program includes education in the morning and optional recreation in the
afternoon. Afternoon activities include sensory activities, fine and gross
motor skill development, crafts, cooking, sports, indoor and outdoor games,
field trips, socialization among peers and swimming! NSSED and NSSRA will
place students at camp sites based on appropriate educational groupings
and facility availability.
Goals: NSSED strives to maintain educational progress made during the
school year. NSSRA’s goal is to provide campers a well-rounded summer
experience through appropriate social interaction with peers, stressing
individual independence and implementing an overall sense of well-being
through recreational activities.

Staff includes NSSRA Recreation Directors, NSSED Education Directors, Special Age:
Education Teachers, Site Coordinators, Speech and Language Therapists,
Teacher Assistants, Program Assistants and Volunteers. Nursing services are
also provided. The staff to student ratio is 1:5 unless indicated as 1:1 in their
IEP. Recreation staffing is based on camper needs and activities.
