Enriched
Lifestyles for Adults (ELA)
is a year-round day program for individuals with developmental disabilities who are 22
years of age and older. Flip over a page (12 - 13) to learn more about Team ELA! As
a collaborative effort between Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association (NSSRA)
and The Center for Enriched Living (The Center), ELA presents the best resources these two
organizations have to offer. NSSRA and The Center each bring nearly 50 years of experience
in serving people with disabilities to this exciting collaboration. ELA was created to enhance
the quality of life and offer well-rounded daytime program options for adults with disabilities
while providing a flexible schedule for families.
ELA’s core program areas are:
• Independent Living & Continuing Education: Computers, Nutrition & Health, Money Skills, Reading, Cooking
• Communication & Socialization: Peer Interactions, Current Events, Relationship Building, Conflict Resolution
• Recreation and Leisure: Sports, Fitness, Arts & Crafts, Music, Hobbies
• Community Integration: Community Service Projects, Lunch Outings, Day Trips, Using Community Resources
ELA is held at The Center for Enriched Living, Monday-Friday, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Participants may choose to attend two, three,
or five days per week, with half and full day options available. If you are interested in beginning the registration process for

ELA Participants Must:
• Be 22 years of age and older or a high school graduate.
• Complete the intake assessment process to determine ELA eligibility and participant
program needs.
• Submit participant information forms as requested by the ELA Program.
