Horseback Riding Saddle up! Equestrian Connection is a one-of-a-kind stable that provides therapeutic horseback riding opportunities specifically designed for individuals with special needs. Participants will have three rotations during the program; riding, groundwork and social time with a snack. During groundwork, participants will learn and practice grooming techniques. Please note that riding time is 20 minutes each week. A waiver will be sent prior to program and must be returned to the NSSRA office by Friday, March 20. Please note that this program will begin one week late on Thursday, April 2. As a safety precaution for all, participants over 250 pounds will do groundwork with horses instead of riding. Participants with physical and medical conditions, please use caution. No program April 9. Goals: Increase flexibility and range of motion while on the horse. Gain self-confidence and a sense of control through stable skills. Develop companionship with the horse and a sense of responsibility.
