Our very own Mel Robson, Superintendent of Recreation, celebrated her twenty year
anniversary with NSSRA on Friday, June 10, 2016!
As the first NSSRA employee to reach twenty years, what an amazing accomplishment!
There’s so much to say about Mel. She’s hilarious, keeps us on our toes, and has a
memory for NSSRA facts and details that would most certainly be lost forever if not for
her. Most importantly, Mel sincerely loves people and the work that she does. Since she
is affectionately known as the "NSSRA Historian," here are a few fun Mel facts from the
twenty years she has been with NSSRA:
• Mel started as a Recreation Specialist on June 10, 1996 and in less than ten years worked her
way up to her current position as Superintendent of Recreation in 2007.
• She co-founded our Customer Service Committee in 2010.
• She has worked in three different office buildings.
• Mel has attended 12 NSSRA weddings.
• During her tenure 700,050 frames of bowling have been bowled (our conservative estimate).
• Mel has sent 20 groups of participants to Maine, though she has never been herself!
• She has worked with over 121 full-time staff over the years, not including the hundreds of
part-time staff that have worked for NSSRA.
• Mel has run 27,893 programs (we think). At the very least, she has run more programs at
NSSRA than anyone in our history!
Mel is a superhero to all of us at NSSRA and we couldn't be happier that she has stuck around for so
long! Happy anniversary from #teamnssra!
