Enriched
Lifestyles for Adults (ELA)
is a year-round day program for individuals with developmental disabilities who are 22
years and older. As a collaborative effort between The Center for Enriched Living (The Center)
and Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association (NSSRA), ELA presents the best
resources these two organizations have to offer. NSSRA and The Center each bring more than
40 years of experience in serving people with disabilities to this exciting collaboration. ELA
was created to enhance the quality of life and offer well-rounded daytime program options
for adults with disabilities while providing a flexible schedule for families.
ELA’s core program areas are:
• Independent Living & Continuing Education: Computers, Nutrition & Health, Money Skills, Reading, Cooking
• Communication & Socialization: Peer Interactions, Current Events, Relationship Building, Conflict Resolution
• Recreation and Leisure: Sports, Fitness, Arts & Crafts, Music, Hobbies
• Community Integration: Community Service Projects, Lunch Outings, Day Trips, Using Community Resources
ELA is held at The Center for Enriched Living, Monday-Friday, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Participants may choose to attend two,
three, or five days per week, with half and full day options available. If you are interested in beginning the registration

Applicant Qualifications:
• 22 years of age and older or a high school graduate
• Must complete a pre-admission and annual assessment
• Complete Annual Information Form (AIF)
• Submit participant information forms as requested
