Calling all fitness fanatics ! Each week participants will engage in fitness instruction from yoga and meditation to strength training and cardio . This program consists of exploring fitness techniques to create a successful workout . Participants will also socialize with their peers while encouraging active lifestyles .
Goals :
s Engage in various fitness activities . s Increase strength , endurance , and flexibility . s Increase socialization opportunities .

Age : 16 and up Min / Max : 8 / 12 Location : Northbrook Leisure Center
Join your fellow NSSRA thespians for a theatre program for teens and adults interested in acting , performing amongst a cast , and experiencing all that a live stage production has to offer ! Volunteers with a common interest in theatre , known as Creative Companions and Northbrook Park District Theatre staff , will join participants to help facilitate a total production . Actors will develop an understanding of auditioning , character development , stage blocking , choreography , performing with costumes , set pieces , sound effects , and more !
This year ' s production will be " The Wizard of Oz "! Join Dorothy as she embarks on her journey to the Emerald City to meet the Wizard alongside a Scarecrow that needs a brain , a Tin Man missing a heart and a Cowardly Lion who is seek courage ; and of course , her dog , Toto ! This fun filled , classic will challenge you as an actor and have you singing along every step of the way .
Performances are scheduled for Saturday , April 13 and Sunday , April 14

Become a Creative Companion !
We are looking for volunteers ages 15 and up ready to share in the fun and excitement of a theater production ! As a Creative Companion , you will be paired with an actor or stage crew member with special needs as he or she participates in a professional theater production of The Wizard of Oz . This is an hourly commitment on Mondays each week from October - April , culminating in two performances .
