Horseback Riding
Age : 7 and up Min : 3 Location : Equestrian Connection , Lake Forest
Saddle up ! Equestrian Connection is a one-of-a-kind stable that provides therapeutic horseback riding opportunities specifically designed for individuals with special needs . Participants will have three rotations during the program ; riding , groundwork and craft with a snack . During groundwork , participants will learn and practice grooming techniques . Please note that riding time is 20 minutes each week . A waiver will be sent prior to program and must be returned to the NSSRA office by Thursday , September 9 . As a safety precaution for all , participants over 250 pounds will do groundwork with horses instead of riding . Participants with physical and medical conditions , please use caution .*
Goals :
» Increase flexibility and range of motion while on the horse .
» Gain self-confidence and a sense of control through stable skills .
» Develop companionship with the horse and a sense of responsibility .

Let ' s get practicing ! This program is designed for competitive swimmers who are looking to compete on the Gator Swim Team during the upcoming winter season . We will focus on conditioning and practicing our swim skills . Swimmers must be able to swim one length of the pool without assistance or stopping to rest .

» Promote stroke development and increase physical conditioning .
