The Editor Speaks Dear Members In a flash we have come to the final issue of RV for the year! And what a busy year it has been for the Club and for our members. In addition to a Club calendar that is jam-packed with popular sports and social activities, several notable projects and events were completed in 2019. Some were brand new and others fondly familiar. Looking back, these are accomplishments that our Club management, staff and members can all be proud of. Topmost on the list is undoubtedly the Sky Range which was first mooted some two years ago and is now a reality that stands magnificently on part of the club frontage. Officially opened by Club President LG Melvyn Ong on Sep 7, it is already seeing a steady stream of golfers eager to sharpen their skills. We celebrate its long awaited opening with a colourful visual spread in this issue of RV. Then there was the rebuilding of golf holes 16 and 17 due to a re-alignment of the course. Golfers had to make do with temporary structures for a while but have since continued to enjoy all 18 holes that are in pristine condition. And there was the 2019 edition of NSRCC Charity Golf of course. It received the usual solid support from well-wishers and raised a significant amount for our selected causes. As if inspired, one golfer went on to achieve a hole-in-one in the event and was duly rewarded with a Mercedes Benz. On the sports front, our representatives in Bowling, Snooker and Golf continue to fly the NSRCC and national flags high in the course of the year in both local and overseas competitions. In particular, NSRCC has a proud tradition of nurturing young talents who have gone on to garner major honours in their respective fields. Many of them have been featured in RV over the past months. The year-end school break will soon be here and I would like to wish our members and their families happy holidays ahead! Regards, Chua Swee Kiat Editor RESORT VIEW 3
