AN NSRCC SKY RANGE CSO

By Nur Isyana , Assistant Executive ( Corporate Communications )
In this series of articles , we bring our readers closer to NSRCC staff by getting to know a little more about them . In this article , we introduce David Wee who works at NSRCC Sky Range .

Say hello to David Wee ! The 69-year-old is a Customer

Service Officer ( CSO ) at our Sky Range . David has seen through all of the different driving ranges at NSRCC Changi .
His journey with NSRCC started in 2008 at the three-storey driving range . “ If I remember correctly , there were 52 bays at our first driving range . We then had to relocate to the temporary driving range , which was smaller and had fewer bays . Now , we have this unique and modern Sky Range ,” he shared .
Regardless of the changes to his ‘ office ’, David said that his job is essentially still the same . “ It ’ s really about helping our members and nonmembers , to make sure that they have a good time practising at our bays .”
David works two shifts . When doing the morning shift , he starts work at 7.00am . His first task ? Switching on and setting up all the tablets for the SkyTrak system at the bays . “ I will go level by level , so I usually start at level 4 , and work my way down to level 3 and level 2 . When I ’ m done , I will clean and sanitise the baskets and bay tags . By 8.00am , I will be seated behind the counter , waiting to welcome members and to assist them with card validation and top-up .” David also manages the waiting list for bays .
“ This is what I like about my job . I get to know more people , our members and our guests . I like interacting with people .”
When he is working the afternoon shift , he reports to work by 1.45pm . David gets a brief handover from his morning shift colleague , then goes off making his rounds at the bays . During the rounds , he will check that the SkyTrak systems and ball dispensing machines are in working order . Whilst being interviewed for this article , David was also busy greeting and interacting with the bay users . Such is his dedication !
