TEE TALK 11

GREENSIDE

JAN / FEB 2021
Fellow NSRCC members ,

MATTERS

Hello 2021 and Goodbye 2020 !

2020 was a very challenging year for everyone in Singapore due to COVID-19 . Travelling was

restricted , and our golfers were unable to travel out of the country for golf . The supply of golf slots for all golf clubs in Singapore was not enough to meet the huge demand , and in NSRCC we faced the same challenges . Many of our golfers were unable to maintain their regular golfing routine due to limitation in golf slots . Many members have asked for a more equitable way to allocate the golf slots , and after much consultation and consideration , we decided on implementing a balloting system as a means of equitable allocation . Since its implementation , we have received positive feedback from members on this systematic way of allocation . These measures are temporary in nature and we would like to seek our members ’ understanding to tie us over during this COVID period .
While we have just entered Phase 3 , we should continue to maintain appropriate social distancing measures . The safety of our members remains a top priority and the collective efforts of members , families , club management and staff in maintaining high levels of awareness in guarding ourselves and our families against COVID-19 has helped us to keep our golf club operating without incidence . Due to the high demand for golf slots , we have also decided to scale down on some of our regular annual golfing events in 2021 . With much regret , some events will not be held , while some others will be rescheduled till later in the year depending on the situation and the advice of the authorities .
The Circuit Breaker was lifted in mid-June 2020 . Since then , the daily utilisation rates at both golf courses at NSRCC Changi and Kranji have been consistently at the maximum 100 %. Our Sky Range has also reported high usage patterns , resulting in members having to queue for the bays .
We have been collecting relevant data since our reopening and will take the opportunity in 2021 , to review our golfing operations so that we can offer our members the best possible golfing experience at NSRCC . We will explore operational changes to areas such as safety on the course , managing pace of play , bag-drop management , golf reception counter routine , etc . Some of these changes may barely be noticeable as we aim to minimise any inconveniences to our members . We will also be conducting some trials to improve the golfing experiences for our members .
Together with the Club Management , I would like to reiterate our appreciation to our members for their understanding as we soldier jointly towards a COVID-19 Free 2021 ! Happy Golfing !
Wishing my fellow NSRCC Members Gong Xi Fa Cai in advance .
