Patrick Ser
Patrick Ser is among the pioneer staff at NSRCC Kranji . He began working in 2004 as a Course Marshal , and is now the Deputy Chief Marshal . “ It has been an enriching experience as I can play my favourite sport ( golf ) and also meet many golfers from all walks of life ,” he said .
Through the years , he has enjoyed working with his colleagues from the various departments . The bonus point about working at NSRCC Kranji ? “ My workplace is very near my home ,” says Patrick , who lives in Choa Chu Kang .
Alex Ong
It has been two years since Alex Ong began working as a Facilities Assistant at NSRCC Changi . His tasks include the upkeeping of the Billiards Room and assisting with event set-up - all of which are a stark difference from his previous job duties .
Alex was doing sales in the telecommunications industry for more than 20 years before he decided on a change of working environment that was suitable for his age . Alex is now 59 years old .
“ My job helps me to get to know the members and understand them better . My philosophy at work is to respect our members at all time ,” said Alex . He adds : “ I also used to play billiards , about 30 years ago . Now , I only play pool but I ’ m just a casual player .”
