NGOH HIANG HHHHH
The old school Ngoh Hiang was the best starter for us , it was an excellent complement to our first beer ! It is prepared in the old-fashioned way , using the traditional 5 spices , pure meat and water chestnut . The wrinkled beancurd skin is crispy , the filling is copious , soft and juicy . For those who like it spicy , it also comes with their very own Thai chili sauce .
TEX MEX CHILLI NACHOS HHHHH
The Tex Max classics is a popular choice among drinkers , a deliciously wicked starter that stamped into our senses . The magic is in the sauce ; blending high quality beef , peeled fresh tomato , vegetable and a special in-house seasoning that brings out the umami . If it were not for the other mains , we would have been crunching on nachos the entire night .
SAMBAL SOTONG
The portion was relatively huge , the squids tasted fresh , tender and sweet . Chef Jaffrey claims that the chili is his own creation , and that the sauce is prepared in small batches to preserve its freshness . Personally , I would have some steamed rice to go along with this dish .
SKY HOKKIEN MEE HHHH
Hokkien Mee is one of the most popular dishes in Sky Bistro . Chef Jaffrey remarked that he only uses fresh ingredients , and that he personally prepares the rich stock from scratch . The noodles are stir-fried and served in the drier form as opposed to the soggy ones found in Whampoa / Old Airport Road hawker centres .
It comes with generous toppings of prawns , squids and importantly the sambal chili . The outcome : it is aesthetically appealing as it is tasty .
ITALIAN HERB CHICKEN HHHH
It is a light , quick and flavoursome all-in-one dinner . The chicken is marinated and soaked in brine ( also with herbs and spices ) for two days before it is baked to perfection . The chicken skin is crispy yet moist and the juicy and tender meat effortlessly slides off the bone . It is not overly oily , and it is bursting with flavour when dipped into the in-house sauce .
MOO BURGER HHHHH
This is my personal favourite ; it is succulent and beefily fragrant . The secret of Moo burger lies in the quality of its 150-day grain fed lean beef patty . The handmade , thick & juicy patty is smothered with garlic aioli , topped with fresh lettuce and glazed with melted cheese , and is served with fried onion rings and fries . It certainly gives Shake Shack a run for its money .
PAN SEARED SALMON
This dish is served with homemade lemon butter sauce and rosemary potatoes . It is the ultimate way to enjoy salmon ; the skin is robustly crispy and the flesh , is moist and tender . It is savory and the ideal choice for weight watchers or pescatarian .
