The Editor Speaks Dear Members Happy New Year! This is significantly not just any new year by the way but one that kicks off a brand new decade of the twenties. The coming Lunar New Year will also usher in the Year of the Rat which is the beginning of a new zodiac cycle in the Chinese calendar. So there is more than one good reason to celebrate and I would like to wish you all a joyful and celebratory year ahead! The feedback from members in the Annual Membership Survey 2019 has been processed and it provides some New Year cheer too. Overall results have remained stable and consistent while members’ satisfaction with services and facilities such as golf booking, bungalows and Kranji golf course have gone up. It does look like continuing improvements being made by the Club in these and other areas are resonating positively with our members. Appropriately, the Club bade goodbye to 2019 in spectacular fashion when it hosted the Singapore Asia Powerboat Championship at the NSRCC Sea Sports Centre from Dec 6 to 8. Back in Singapore after an absence of eight years, this exciting event literally churned up the waves of the normally placid waterfront of the Sea Sports Centre. Some of the thrills and spills have been captured in this issue of RV. The festive spirit towards the end of the year also provided the appropriate backdrop for get-together events hosted separately by Club President LG Melvyn Ong and Club Captain Tan Kah Han. LG Ong hosted the Annual Get-Together for staff and committee members on Nov 14 where he also presented tokens of appreciation to retiring committee members. While at Kranji, our Captain hosted a golf game for his fellow captains and officials from the other golf clubs in Singapore on Nov 23. Elsewhere in this issue, we have a new feature on golf psychology which may interest golfers who are frustrated with their game and are searching for solutions. Yes, spending time at the driving range certainly helps but what about the state of one’s mind during the game? After all, some say golf is a mind game more than anything else. This feature may help you in exploring and understanding the issues involved. See you at the Club soon!  Regards, Chua Swee Kiat Editor RESORT VIEW 3
