Straight lines, dark streets, impeccable architecture, monotony and dynamism, the running
of a universal clock takes over every second that inhabits this uncontrolled, but at the
same time, structured city.
Known by some as the Gray City, London is characterized by its relentless gray harmony
that stains its streets, buildings, environments and ways of life. It is something amazing
that a metropolis endowed with the best art, literature, blues and rock is under a chro-
matic blanket that is motionless and desaturated as it is the color that comes from the
combination of pure joy (white) and sadness deeper (black) .
The conquerors of a territory burdened by daytime and night-time water and live in a mo-
notonous city, but there is something about them that breaks with this tireless monoto-
ny. Although it is hard to believe the color red, so passionate, fleeting, eccentric, lively and
joyful; is the one that visually identifies the sign elements of the city.
The "Red London" photographic project emerges. It's focus is the interest of the visual and
symbolic contrast that can be observed between red (representative of identifying ele-
ments of the city) and gray (continuous constructor of the London environment).
Líneas rectas, calles oscuras, arquitectura impecable, monotonía y dinamismo, el correr de
un reloj universal se apodera de cada segundo que habita esta descontrolada, pero a la
vez, estructurada ciudad.
Conocida por algunos como la Ciudad Gris, Londres se caracteriza por su armonía im-
placable de color gris que tiñe sus calles, edificios, ambientes y formas de vida. Es algo
alucinante que una metrópolis dotada del mejor arte, literatura, blues y rock se encuentre
bajo una manta cromática inmóvil y desaturada como lo es el color que proviene de la
combinación de la alegría pura (blanco) y la tristeza mas profunda (negro).
Los conquistadores de un territorio agobiado por el agua diurna y noctura viven en una
ciudad monótona, pero existe algo de ellos que rompe con esta incansable monotonía.
Aunque sea difícil de creer el color rojo, tan pasional, fugaz, excéntrico, vivo y alegre; es
el que identifica visualmente a los elementos sígnicos de la ciudad.
Surge el proyecto fotográfico “Red London”. Se ubica en el interés por el contraste visual
y sígnico que se puede observar entre el rojo (representativo de elementos identificativos
de la ciudad) y el gris (continuo constructor de el ambiente londinense).
