RIME Minister Malcolm Turnbull
visited Lavarack Barracks during the week
of the 50th anniversary of its opening.
Escorted by COMD 3Bde BRIG Chris Field
and CAPT Braden Holmes the Prime Minister
inspected a 3RAR Guard mounted in his honour.
Mr Turnbull was shown a series of capability
displays at 3CSSB and joined members of the
Brigade at morning tea at 3CSSB’s Wapiti Junction.
He thanked members of the
Brigade for their service.
“Australia will always need men and women
like yourselves; professional, committed,
courageous, dedicated to Australia’s
service to keep us safe,” he said.
He praised the innovations displayed
during the capability demonstration.
“I am so proud of your ingenuity, your brilliance,
your ability to come up with new ideas,” he said.
The Prime Minister said members of the
ADF and 3rd Brigade were defending
Australia in a proud tradition.
“You’re doing so with great skill, great
professionalism, great courage, and
great patriotism. Thank you,” he said.
