In the 2016 Obstacle Course competition, it really was a case of every second counting, and when the dust settled, nobody was more aware of that than the 1RAR mens team. The 3RAR team completed the course incurring no penalties in 11m2s. They were the third team to go eclipsing the 3CSR A team by almost two minutes. The 3RAR run was the benchmark teams tried to reach for the rest of the morning’s competition and 1RAR, third last to complete the course, came closest to it, falling an agonising four seconds short with a penalty-free time of 11m6s. In third place was 2RAR with a penalty-free run of 12m26s. Commander’s Trophy points awarded were: 3RAR 100pts, 1RAR 90pts, 2RAR 80pts, 3CSSB 70pts, 3CSR 60pts, 2Cav Regt 50pts, 3CER 40pts, 4Regt RAA 30pts. Points awarded in the Orienteering were: 1RAR 100 pts, 3RAR 90pts, 2RAR 80pts, 3CSSB 70pts, 2Cav Regt 60pts and 3CER 50pts.
