HIS year the Commander’s
Trophy will be twice as tough.
The traditional four events in the
prestigious inter-unit competition shooting, orienteering, cross country and
the obstacle course - became five last
year when the Geckos 24hr Challenge
was added to the competition.
This year the competition will
encompass eight events, culminating
in the final contest, the Brigade
athletics carnival in December.
COMD 3Bde BRIG Chris Field said
he didn’t drive the change, he simply
agreed to the suggestions that came out
of the Brigade’s 100-day assessment.
“The Military Skills competition
was one thing that came up in the
100-day assessment and the ideas
flowed from there,” he said.
