competition
The skills-building aspect
was the focus of the way the
competition was graded.
RSM 3Bde WO1 Brent
Doyle said each team
worked to achieve gold,
silver or bronze standard
as they tested their
foundation skills set.
“They were competing
to better the baseline
standard rather than
competing directly against
other teams,” he said.
COMD 3Bde BRIG Chris
Field, said mastering key
military skills was important
for all nations in the region.
“Townsville has some of
the best training areas in
the world and we decided
to have an activity here,
where we are close to our
regional partners,” he said.
“Mentoring is critical in
this profession and we can
learn from each other.
“Our soldiers get a
great deal out of this.”
All teams were able to
achieve gold, silver or bronze
standards above the base line.
The successful competition
is set to expand with more
nations participating in 2018.
