RSM 3CER WO1
Glen Donaldson
juggles a load
of dresses
constructing an urban operations training facility.
Meanwhile other 3CER soldiers were providing
training for the PNGDF engineers at their home
base in Lae and it is around Lae the Regiment
plans to distribute the students’ handiwork.
“The Engineer Battalion has relationships with
people in villages around Lae and will be able
to help us to ensure these dresses get to the girls
who will appreciate them,” LTCOL Harris said.
“I am sure the dresses [and shorts]
will be very, very welcome.”
COMD 3Bde B RIG Chris Field said
the students’ work would make a real
diff erence to people’s lives in PNG.
He said PNG was the Brigade’s partner nation
and that there were always 3Bde soldiers in PNG.
“For many, it’s their very fi rst time overseas, so
it’s their fi rst chance to experience another
culture which makes them better people,
and better soldiers,” he said.
RSM 3CER WO1 Glen Donaldson
said he was impressed at the
commitment of the students.
“It’s an extra-curricular
activity, not something
they have to do... that’s
a great culture to
have,” he said.
The dresses and
shorts will travel
with LTCOL Harris
and WO1 Donaldson
when they visit 3CER
members working on
Ex Puk Puk this month.
