introduced a couple of intitiatives.
The fi rst is a sort of orientation week,
execpt that it runs for a fortnight at
the beginning of August each year.
“In that fortnight, we try to organise
relatively formal events... perhaps a car
rally to take in all the sights [and sites]
of the Pandanus Park retreat, perhaps a
barbeque at Jacks Creek,” Peter said.
Those early August events are designed
to help newer visitors meet people and
get to know the park and its attractions.
They’re not “must-do” events, but each
is a “can-do event” if it takes your fancy.
The second initiative is a “date-
saver” where people can write in
their own events - perhaps a barbeque,
last weekend, it might have been a
gathering to watch the football fi nals
on a solar-powered television.
Whatever you feel like doing
at Pandanus Park, it’s important
you get up there and do it.
Membership - $1 per annum - is
available to anybody with a
Returned Active Service badge.

there, the right gear to take, and answer
any other questions you might have.
