PANDANUS Park War Veterans Retreat , a 10km riverfront Cape York paradise , is almost too good to be true . Since 2011 , the riverfront land has been leas the Kalpowar Land Trust and it is intended a for returned active servicemen and their gues President of the Pandanus Park committee Peter “ Feral ” Hannah said , while it was often referred to mistakenly as a Vietnam veterans ’ retreat , it was definitely open to all veterans of all conflicts and their guests . Open from ANZAC Day to Remembrance D each year , subject to road closures , the site is big enough to be all things to all veterans .
