XERCISE Talisman
Sabre has preoccupied
the base during July with an
additional 700-plus troops
from the US, visiting RAAF
squadrons and the TUHQ.
Aircraft space was at a
premium and around-the-
clock services continued
throughout the exercise.
My thanks are extended to
all Base squadrons and to
5Avn Regt for a great eff ort
throughout the exercise.

Sabre was the main
focus we were still able
to support other events
and activities such as
NAIDOC Week where
the combined messes
raised money for schools
at Garbutt and Vincent.
A
LL units continued their
busy visit schedules,
some with extremely short
notice such as the National
Advisory Committee
for Mental Health.
Again thanks to the units
that participated and in
particular MAJ Meng Wang
5Avn Regt and his staff for
his support and co-operation
