DUMBBELL RAISES IN SHOOTING STANCE (FIGURES 17 – 20)
Raise the dumbbells explosively while contracting the shoulder
muscles. Front and lateral raises are meant to strengthen the
shoulder while remaining in a shooting stance. Raising the
dumbbells in this position allows for training in the functional
motion of shooting. Standing on a balance trainer is a progression
of this exercise which forces engagement of the core, quadriceps,
and calves all at the same time, which are primary muscles used
for shooting. Exhale while raising the dumbbells and inhale while
slowly returning to the starting position in a controlled manner.
