Summer is gliding towards the end, and the last summer month for this year is over. We have had a great summer with many kilometers driven for most of us. There has been a lot of activity all summer, and many meetings and trips. It is fun to read about all the activities that are organized.
We have had Tour de Tyrifjord/Alexander Meeting, the Toke meeting, Rafting in Sjoa, the Øygardsgrend meeting and the YCC-N Club Meeting. I will return to this latter. Please pay attention to that it is not always as easy to find every trip and meeting that is being organised. So please put these under 'organisation/event' in our group on Facebook, and that it is published on the website. Then everyone will find it.
The biggest event we have organized this year is the International Rally for YCC all over the world. There were over 250 participants at the meeting, including those who came for day visits. All our guests were delighted with both the meeting and the location we had chosen. Everyone would like to come back on a later occasion. Financially, it went much better than expected. We had one deficit, but it was not NOK 85,000 as first expected. The deficit was NOK 36,153, and then there are still some who have not paid the participant fee. We have learned a great deal, and hope that the experiences we have gained will be applied the next time. A document will be created for the future.
Tour de Tyrifjord, had a lottery where all income went to the Aleksander project. More than NOK 20,000 came in, which is very good.
The Toke meeting, I know very little about, other than that people had a good time and that everyone wanted to come back next year. I think that's great.
The Øygardsgrend meeting was also a success. Very good. Rafting in Sjoa had quite a few participants this year, and we hope for more next year. Here the people had a great time, even if they got wet into the skin. It is nice to read about this, and I hope there will be full reports in this magazine.
This year's Club Meeting was organized from 19 to 21 August. The meeting went very well, but there were no more than forty of us at the meeting. This year's lottery was to go to an association that takes care of children from families with drugs and violence - "Yes, It's useful" (“Ja, Det nytter” in Norwegian ). A great organization that helps where needed. In total, lottery tickets were sold and we received donations from people who couldn't come to the meeting. In September we will hand over a check for NOK 20,000 to "Yes, It's useful" (“Ja, Det nytter”).
The next meet is the Straand meet in Vrådal. This is the motorcycle industry's meeting where many will present next year's bikes for a test ride. Chief Telemark arranges for us, so don't hesitate, sign up to take the trip to the beautiful Telemark.
The Selection Committee is starting its work, and they need candidates for several positions. The only one I know of right now is the JR.(junior) representative, Tuva Lannerstedt has got a lot to do at his place of learning and has no time anymore. This has been reported to the election committee. If you would like to be involved in running this great club further, then propose yourself to the committee. They will be happy about that.
At the very end, we will urge everyone, myself included; drive well, check your tires and tire pressure, so that this autumn does not become sad or tragic. Stick to the speed limits, there's no point in losing your driving license this winter.
