Day 14.

The day starts from Hørnøsand with no rain and quite nice weather. We are going down to Mora and Moraparken which is known for, the Vasaloppet Vætteren around. Fred had to boast a little; "I have cycled around the Vætteren many times (about 300km)".

The bikers get out on E4. Keeps good speed down the map. Per was made aware that he was on a trip as an apprentice. He had to be when he drives with only chiefs. Per was given the honorable assignment and drive first in the YCC group most of the day.

Until the last few miles, we drove on dry asphalt that day. Per sees that the clouds are starting to tighten the sky and become more scary with darker clouds rolling towards us. We have just enough time to get dressed before the rain. Suddenly the weather went from 24 degrees and sun to 17 degrees and rain.

When ‘TTT’ does not reach to jump into rain clothing. Suddenly he observes that the last thing he does is to have a wet hood on the rain jacket inside the helmet ..... Yes that ends with a lot of dew inside the helmet on the glasses.

Everything works out for the good guys. The last few miles we drove on a dry road to Moraparken Hotell.

TTT and Fred were going out shopping and taking some pictures from the areas that are known from the Vasaloppet.

Of course, we travel in simple clothes. And what happens? Yes, the last rainstorm of the day had to come. It was just getting home before we got really wet. That was today's stage of about 35 miles. Only one night and about 30 miles left

Day 15.

And the last day that goes from Mora to Kløfta. I look out the window. It is pouring down cats and dogs. I tell Per who became my roommate for 14 days that I want to sleep longer. I just got the message: "If you are a biker then you are a biker, get up. We will pack."

Jan Underdal is familiar with the vagabond’s life. He had almost 50 miles a head that could be in rain for the rest of the trip according to the meteorologists. As Jan says the last kilometers, was on dry asphalt. But they do not count. The last day was just rain driving.

This was a day for all of us with just hard driving, refueling and a meal along the route. Rain and black asphalt. At the border Sweden - Norway we needed to show the ‘Corona-passport’. No other problems.

When we cross the border, there are six motorcycles from YCC-N to welcome us. Many thanks to Rune Kristiansen, Nina Ziener, Marianne Wethal, Christian Rogne, May Ruud, Rolf Gulbrandsen and not least Viktor.

As Per said when he discovers what meets us; “Have we been to Mount Everest, Fred?” We were very surprised by the welcome committee, not least when we were offered to join Rune to his home in Kongsvinger. There, Ann Kristin Hoel had arranged a sausage dinner, buns and coffee for everyone. A wonderful meal!

Closing words

I repeat myself again. I am very fond of YCC-N and all the joy the club gives.

Then the ring has been closed. I have returned home after a trip to the North Cape, Finland, Sweden and home again to Kløfta. The trip was about 4920 km for me. We were 4 bikes up on the North Cape + one bike that went to Nordland. In total, the YCC has traveled at least 24,000 km in connection with this trip and without any accident. I get so happy when I see and experience how much YCC riders think about safety.

During this trip we had 6 degrees and rain. The snow lay all the way up to the roadside. We had 36 degrees at Finnmarksvidda. We had rain. Drops as large as washbasins together with winds up to 16-20 m/s at the coast which is a near gale. Then we had a fresh ride. We had several days with good days in the sun from morning to night.

Along the way, we meet more members from YCC. Both in Trøndelag and Troms they drive several miles together with us. Thank you for contributing to the pleasant behavior of YCC.
