Sustainable Agriculture
THIS program supports graziers and
cane growers to:
• build resilient and productive businesses
while minimising environmental
impacts;
• better understand the links between
their land management practices and
water quality in the catchments and
on the Great Barrier Reef;
• learn about best practice and innovation
through expert advice, training, and
events;
• access funding and support to adopt
best management practices; and
• monitor the results of their efforts.
Protecting Biodiversity
THIS program aims to protect, maintain
and restore regional biodiversity by:
• working with community and
government partners to strategically
tackle priority pest and weed species,
and protect threatened native species
and ecosystems;
• providing technical and practical
support that builds community
capacity to protect biodiversity; and
• providing planning direction to
ensure that investment not only
reduces the impacts of existing
priority pests, but also prevents
the spread of new invasive
species.
