So like most people , I fell into this industry . I was teaching preschool and when I decided that just wasn ’ t for me , I took a job as a Leasing Professional while I figured out what I wanted to do next . It wasn ’ t until many years later , when I was a Community Manager that I finally realized that this was it- this is my career that I chose .
◆ WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE ABOUT THE MULTIFAMILY INDUSTRY ?
The 24 / 7 / 365 expectation . Since COVID there has been a huge shift with what a lot of people find to be an acceptable work life balance , myself included . Maybe we finally learned this is not a healthy way to exist . Finding a realistic balance between work and personal time leads to happier and healthier people .
◆ MOST IMPACTFUL PERSON IN YOUR CAREER ?
My children . They are who I have always worked hard and strived to be successful for , and they don ’ t even know it .
◆ FAVORITE TEAM-BUILDING ACTIVITY ?
One of my best memories of a team building event was a scavenger hunt I did with my managers last summer . It was far from perfect , but that helped to make it fun ! It was in the middle of the summer and a million degrees , I had one pregnant manager and one manager with an ankle injury at the time , but it was still just so much fun being off site and spending that time together as a group .
◆ IDEAL LONG WEEKEND ?
I love a good weekend getaway with my husband ! If I am staying local , I ’ d say a weekend in Aspen . If I can go anywhere , put me on a beach by the ocean and I ’ m happy .
