◆ FIRST INDUSTRY JOB ?
I started as a Leasing Consultant for Sevo Miller at Hickory Ridge ( It ' s called Richfield ) in Aurora
◆ PIVOTAL MOMENT IN YOUR CAREER ?
When I was hired on by Drake Powell and Bryan Stern at Echelon 8 years ago . I would have never thought I would have grown as much as I did since starting with them . I have been supported and learned so much while working here along with having the freedom to be myself .
◆ WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE ABOUT THE MULTIFAMILY INDUSTRY ?
Not so much the Multifamily industry but the legislation and the perception of the industry as a whole . We do care about the residents and how they are treated and sometimes we are seen as the “ Big Bad Wolf ”
◆ TV SHOW BEST DESCRIBES YOUR MANAGEMENT STYLE ?
Cheers- Everybody knows you name .
◆ MOST IMPACTFUL PERSON IN YOUR CAREER ?
Judy Blaes . When starting as an Area Manager at Echelon 8 years ago she has helped mentor me and grow me to understand and look at the industry differently . Her attention to detail paired with her being an analytical superstar she has really paved the way for not only myself but other Asset Living folks to learn and grow .
◆ FAVORITE TEAM-BUILDING ACTIVITY ?
Escape rooms . It is such a great way for everyone to work together , strategize , and have fun at the same time .
◆ YOUR IDEAL LONG WEEKEND LOOK LIKE ?
I love the sun . I could lay out by a pool or on a beach all weekend long if I had the opportunity .

◆ FIRST INDUSTRY JOB ?
As a young man my introduction to the industry was as a construction administrator renovating apartment buildings in northeast Denver
◆ PIVOTAL MOMENT IN YOUR CAREER ?
In the mid 80 ’ s I became one of 66 assistant vice presidents for the largest real estate management company in the country at the time Johnstown / Southmark Properties .
◆ WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE ABOUT THE MULTIFAMILY INDUSTRY ?
The industry could be more diverse but , when you tell people some of the stories of what we deal with who would really want to do that kind of work ?
◆ TV SHOW BEST DESCRIBES YOUR MANAGEMENT STYLE ?
With that said the Walking Dead would have to be the best series , just survive
◆ MOST IMPACTFUL PERSON IN YOUR CAREER ?
There have been several mentors during my career some inspired through example some through competition all cared deeply about the everyday people we work with .
◆ FAVORITE TEAM-BUILDING ACTIVITY ?
Bowling has to be the most recent activity , Griffis Blessing has won the honors the past several years with a team of property managers and service technicians combined with corporate folks that seems to change each year .
◆ YOUR IDEAL LONG WEEKEND LOOK LIKE ?
Some of you know that I raise Angus cattle for beef . Last weekend began at the veterinarians office getting medication so I could inject two ailing calves and had to administer a large pill to the back of their throats , then off to the large pasture to wrangle two cow calf pairs and take them to market returning home Sunday evening two hours after dark . Thanks go to my lovely wife and friends who help me along the way . www . aamdhq . org NOV / DEC 2022 TRENDS | 39
