On Thursday , Dec . 2 , we hosted “ Highway to Giving ,” our annual charity auction , at the Vehicle Vault in Parker . The event raised over $ 25,000 in total for Family HomeStead , a transitional program for families experiencing homeless in Denver and Jefferson Counties , and Apartments Giving Back , AAMD ’ s initiative in support of charitable housing organizations across metro Denver . Nearly 200 people attended the event , bidding on everything from sports events to vacations .

AAMD has supported Family Home- Stead for 35 years , raising more than $ 500,000 for the organization . Since 1978 , Family HomeStead has provided emergency housing to nearly 10,000 families experiencing homelessness in Colorado . Through its supportive case management services , Family Home- Stead is dedicated to ending homelessness in Colorado , one family at a time .
“ Our members are proud to support Family HomeStead ,” said Amy Lassers , co-chair of the event . “ With rising homelessness in Colorado , their work is more important than ever . Events like this auction go a long way toward ensuring they have the resources to help more and more families every year .”
AAMD is dedicated to giving back to the Denver community , launching Apartments Giving Back , its philanthropic initiative , in 2018 . Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic , the Association has raised and donated more than
$ 68,000 for over 75 charitable organizations across Metro Denver . The initiative is designed to organize the philanthropic efforts of AAMD members , all of whom are committed and vital members of the communities in which they own and operate rental housing . Every year , Denver ’ s apartment industry donates thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours toward helping Colorado families in need .
