SB 850 gets boost from consumer advocate group
The Consumer Choice Center , which partners with the ADA to advocate for insurance reforms that benefit patients , recently issued an opinion piece on PDA ’ s assignment of benefits legislation . The op-ed sheds light on how SB 850 will improve access to dental care by providing a mechanism in which patients have more freedom and choice in deciding how to use their dental benefits .
Yael Ossowski , deputy director at the consumer advocacy group , wrote in the October 26 Pittsburgh Post-Gazette , “ If we were to simplify this process and empower patients , it would do wonders to improve care in this state -- and perhaps free up at least one part of our health care system .” In case you missed it , PDA posted the op-ed on the news feed of our PDA Go app October 27 , and on our social media October 28 .
