She also sits on the House Appropriations and Professional Licensure committee. PDA President-Elect Charles Incalcaterra held a fundraiser at his home for Senate Appropriations chair Pat Browne. PADPAC made a hard dollar campaign contribution and covered Dr. Incalcaterra’s expenses in hosting the fundraiser. The importance of hard dollar contributions In order to move your agenda through the General Assembly and the regulatory agencies we need to make contributions to support those who support us. It is a constant fight to overcome the power and reach of the insurance lobby. In order to fight and win for you PADPAC needs hard dollar contributions. Due to state and federal laws, PDA categorizes PADPAC funds into two types. Hard dollars are contributions made via personal check or credit card. Only hard dollars may be used for political campaign contributions. Soft dollars are contributions made with a business check or credit card. Soft dollars may only be used for admin- istrative purposes such as assisting district or local dental societies with a fundraising event. We need hard dollars in order to build relationships and make a decisive impact in political races around the state. Please contribute via your personal check or credit card. We need to rebuild the PAC from all the fundraisers we attended to move SB 373 As- signment of Benefits through the legislature. We also need to “prime the pump” for the 2019-20 legislative session. Please give what you can as every little bit helps. If you don’t want to make a lump sum contribution you can make monthly contributions which may be easier or more convenient for you. If you choose the monthly contribution by the end of the year you will have made a significant contribution towards your PAC. You too can attend fundraisers and build your relationship with your senator and representative. Just ask and we’ll set you up with everything you need to have fun and be an effective advocate. Please contribute hard dollars as we need them to drive your agenda forward. If you don’t contribute you make it more likely that the insurance lobby’s voice will be louder than ours.
