INSURANCE CONNECTION MetLife and Electronic Funds Transfer MetLife sent letters to dentists indicating that they are REQUIRING enrollment in Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) by October 31, 2016. PDA contacted MetLife and determined that dentists are not required to enroll in EFT at this time (emphasis added). If you do not enroll, you will continue to receive paper check/EOBs. However, according to a recent ADA News article, MetLife and other insurance carriers are contemplating this policy. Please see the October 3 ADA News article “MetLife requires electronic reimbursement: ADA effort allows dentists to opt out if technology unavailable.” PDA will continue to monitor this situation and keep members abreast of any changes that occur. Contact Vince Pinizzotto at vjp@padental.org if you have questions. N O V / D E C 2 0 1 6 | P E N N S Y LVA N I A D E N TA L J O U R N A L 11
