Sedan Dip - a flyspot on the map
north of Mt Isa on the way to
Normanton.
In a setting about as outback
Australia as one can get, a son of the
mighty USA stallion Chicks Regard
stormed home on 22nd August to
win the 2015 Sedan Dip Cup.
Chick Ching Cash, ridden by Erica
Piggot won by 1 ½ lengths from R Ya
With it, Sky Rose (tb) and Ala Duke.
It was the first Cup win for the six
year old stallion, who has been a
consistent performer for his owner
and trainer, Troy Gallagher.

was the dam of a string of good ones,
including All Australian Futurity
winner Cash N Balance.

Owner Troy Gallagher, Normanton,
said he was “very happy” with the
win in the finals, but the “heat was
really the toughest” race for Chick
Ching Cash at the meet.
Mr Gallagher said high-calibre
competition from Ala gator, Mazuka
and Ala Sugar made for an exciting
finish in the heats.
“He [Chick Ching Cash] pipped Ala
Sugar on the line by a short nose,
‘Ala Gator by a neck and that’s about
all,” Mr Gallagher said.
“There wasn’t much in it at all.”
The six-race program, comprising
of four heats and two finals, formed
part of an action-packed weekend.
