Bake cake , stack and crumb coat . Refrigerate for one hour to allow buttercream to harden . Don ’ t worry too much about getting a sharp edge on top !

Carefully cut a small slit in each end of your stencil , to feed a piece of ribbon through .
Inside a small spray bottle , mix gold lustre dust and cake decorator ’ s spirit . The consistency should be such than when you swirl the bottle , the liquid shouldn ’ t come away from the sides of the bottle straight away . If the mixture is too thin , simply add a little more dust .
Step 4
Wrap the stencil around the cake , using the ribbon hold the stencil in place at the back . You can use a peg to hold the ribbon if you like .
