Secretary Brian ' s big birthday gift ! Following the recent € 500 donation by 41 Club Nerja to the Nerja Solidaria Food Bank , Club Secretary Brian Karet made a further generous gesture . He kindly asked guests at his Birthday party ( he ’ s being shy about his age !) to donate money to the Nerja Food Bank , instead

of buying him presents . The result was a fabulous total of € 250 which Brian was delighted to present to Nerja Solidaria President Miguel Benitez Centurion ( see photograph ). Brian , along with 14 other local people , is also a volunteer at the Food Bank .
While thanking Brian , President Miguel was also keen to stress that “ Although we are starting to move away from some difficulties that were caused by the Pandemic our Food Bank still provides a vital lifeline for many struggling local families ” and he also recognised the “ Wonderful help from all the volunteers and the generous local community , such as 41 Club Nerja , as well ”.

Dog walking fund raiser
APAA animal charity in Nerja would like to say a special thank you to two young Nerja residents . 11-year-old
Emily Richardson and her friend Alba wanted to raise some money to help APAA and decided that as they are dog lovers they would offer their services as dog walkers . Throughout the summer they walked dogs charging € 1.50 each time and raised a fantastic € 136 which they presented to APAA last month .
A regular supporter of APAA was so impressed with Emily and Albas efforts they matched their donation . A great big well done to the girls from the Soltalk team .
