HOME OF GUIDING HANDS WELCOMES A NEW CEO
On September 1 , Edward Hershey took office as the new Board-elected President and CEO for Home of Guiding Hands ( HGH ). He has been with the organization for more than seven years and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer a year ago .
Edward has over 25 years of experience in business , specializing in operations , project management and leadership . He is excited about helping individuals build productive lives where their skills , talents , personalities and abilities shine . “ We are proud to provide person-centered and individually tailored supports and services to children , adults and families in need . We aim to help educate communities about the many ways people with developmental disabilities can give back and make the community a better place for all ,” Edward shared with GB Magazine .
The importance of protecting the rights of individuals with developmental disabilities is something Edward understands . He has been a stepfather for 23 years to a daughter Julia , who was born with a rare genetic condition Williams Syndrome characterized by medical problems , developmental delays and learning disabilities .
