GOLF & GREENS COMMITTEE
The golf committee met on October 19 , 2021 . The following is a summary of discussions :
1 . Non-member golf play continues to be of concern and is a high priority of the committee . Scott was asked to provide a report on the current rate structure for all golfers . This will include the rates for non-members , walkers , riders and guests on weekdays and weekends . The committee agreed on the following :
• Winter Rates will not be offered this year
• Student Rates will be increased to $ 36 effective 11 / 1 / 21
• Effective January 1 , 2022 , non golfers will be limited to 8 plays a yr .
• All greens fees will be increased effective January 1 , 2022
2 . The Member-Member Golf Tournament in November will be a Stableford Event . There are currently 15 teams signed up for the tournament .
3 . The Committee discussed the potential opportunity of purchasing a Golf Simulator to be placed upstairs during the winter months . Members can take lessons and sharpen their game . There would be a charge for using the Simulator to negate the cost of purchase .
4 . The committee was sad to learn that Mike Bozeman will be resigning from the committee to resume coaching activities at VMI . Mike has contributed a great deal to our committee and his loss will be felt .
5 . Stay tuned to learn more about the newly created Major Events Committee . Neal Lineberry and committee have lots of fun activities planned for 2022 .
