Action Learning Project Summary
learning is an adult learning theory from the 1940 ’ s based on the ideas of
Action United Kingdom Professor Reginald Revans . It is a learn-by-doing approach which encourages people to work together to solve a problem or improve performance . The theory encourages groups to spend time reflecting on what they are collectively learning during the process . The method stands in contrast with traditional teaching methods that focus on the presentation of knowledge and skills .
Leadership Academy fellows are asked to create an Action Learning Project of
IGNITE interest to them , and of benefit to their organization . As a leader , it is vitally important to learn how to facilitate the group process , and inspire and motivate others to achieve goals and improve quality within the organization . The project can be small or large in scope , involve one department or several organizations , and require few or as many resources as needed .
