HEALING
A new beginning for Touch of
Health Holistic Center
A
client recently asked me what
exactly the word ‘Holistic’
meant. My response was that it is the
healing of an individual person on all
levels; physically, mentally, and spiritually.
The rebirth of Touch of Health initially
became a project about three years ago.
Over the span of the last several years, I’ve
met many wonderful people who in the
end would aid me in this project and long
term dream of mine and allow it to come
into fruition. Since taking ownership of
Touch of Health in 2009, I wanted to
give other individuals an opportunity to
run their own businesses. Unfortunately,
just as business can be, there are not
always positive outcomes. What we need
to do is learn from the experience of each
situation and not dwell on the negative.
After suffering several setbacks, I was
blessed enough to be surrounded by a
fantastic group of friends and family
whom continued to keep me grounded
and humble and impacted my decision to
restructure the business.
The thoughts of expanding the
business to encompass Holistic
offerings seemed like a natural
progression. I met Kim Pennington,
our Holistic Health Practitioner,
three years ago. We collaborated on
several classes and they were very
successful. These events are what
heavily influenced my decision for
change. There is a vital need in this
world to redefine the meaning of
healing. Modern practices have their
place, but they treat on an individual
level, while our Holistic Center
offers multiple levels of healing.
With many more ideas and a very busy
schedule for the end of this year and some
well into the next, the business is moving
forward and we feel very positive about
plans for the future. The first Saturday in
November begins Integrative Yoga with
Rebecca Redfern with another instructor
joining us the first of the year, allowing
us more options for classes. We are also
planning a Women’s Wellness Weekend
scheduled for January 26-28th. For
more information on this or any of our
other events feel free to stop by our new
location at 510 Amos Road Shelbyville,
or follow us on Facebook at Touch of
