BRCF awards
$137,379 in
fall grants
he following grants
were approved from
BRCF’s unrestricted
community funds and from
field of interest funds by the
BRCF Board of Directors. Some
of these grants were part of the
Foundation’s commitment to
support the projects that were
proposed during the Ignite
Shelby County grant process.
• Blue River Career Programs
will receive $30,000 to support
the interior renovations to
accommodate the growing diesel
tech program.
• Shelby Arts Alliance will
receive a grant of $30,000
to support hiring an Arts
Coordinator for Shelby County.
• The Strand Theatre will
receive $28,400 to complete
two of the phases of their stage
renovations.
• Healthy Shelby County and
Shelbyville Parks Department
are collaborating on a project
to enhance several walking
trails & parks with accessible
& protected benches, outdoor
musical instruments, and public
art, among some other amenities.
They will receive a grant of
$28,164 to help with various
aspects of this project.

School will receive $10,000
to help toward the purchase of
a new video display for their
gymnasium.
• Hancock Hope House will
receive $1,000 to help purchase
new bunk beds for their shelter.
Currently, approximately 20%
of their clients are from Shelby
County.
Arts/Culture Grants
• Arts for Learning will
receive $5,000 to work with
Southwestern Elementary on a
3D public art project that will
involve the whole school and
staff. The art will be installed by
the school for the public to view
and enjoy.
• Morristown Band Boosters
will receive a grant of $2,665 to
purchase a used concert tuba and
case for the band.
• Hendricks Elementary
will receive $1,200 to support
the production of their annual
musical. This year’s production
is Merry Christmas Charlie
Brown!
• Loper Elementary is
receiving $950 for their annual
musical production. This
year they will present Son of
Pinocchio.
